The balance

If there's no good, there's no bad. Similarly, there's no black there's no white. I call this the black and white theory or simply, the balance. What this means is if there's no bad, we can't define what is good, if everything is black, we do not know what is white. Its like yin and yang, I am not spreading a religion here, but it is real in our lives(seems to me).

A situation here can explain well the balance. A person gone through so much trouble when gets to rest on his bed feels so much happiness. For a normal person, who gets to sleep well everyday, doesn't feel that kind of positivity. On the other hand, a blind person from birth doesn't experience much pain as a person who can see from young then got blind. In words, a person who has gone through much suffering can experience joy in a simple happiness while a person who has gone through much joy can experience much suffering in a simple pain.

Can we use this balance to make ourselves happy? Or does it limit us?

A simple situation we can use this balance is that we work hard everyday for the weekend, preventing ourselves from having a movie at the cinema (an example) , until the weekend. We will enjoy it more rather than watching movie everyday. Another story can be told of is in a relationship, if we treat everyone great like we treat our lovers, our lovers will get jealous. So if we treat everyone really bad, and we treat her a bit of good, she will feel special. A poor kid will get so happy if he gets a candy, while a rich kid will only be happy if he gets to the disneyland.

Human wants something whiter than the 'white' we saw, unless we reduce the 'white' to the black, then we will treasure anything that is white. So should we go to the black sometimes? Does God create evil and hell to glorify Himself and to remind us of the balance?
